Question about -recieved damage
Ok i have just recently put myself a warrior together.. when i first bought his armor i bought all droks plate armor..then i found out about - recieved damage armor such as knights from a runner.. so the runner told me that knights armor has a -recieved damage thing on it.. so i asked him why dont people get the full set and be uber.. he said cause it dosent stack so its just best to buy one and get he full effect.. so i was down with that.. so i went and got the knights gauntlets to go with my full plate armor and also picked up a major absorbtion rune and a good -2 recieved damage stance shield.. so i thought that with the shield and rune and knights gauntlets i would be recieving a total of -6 damage recieved.. while in stance of course.. so then i was told by another runner that it doesent stack that way.. and that i only had -2..i was like wtf.. why do people buy sup absorbtion and knights and a uberassed -3 recieved damage shield if it dosent stack.. so there is my question.. i would love a definitive answer on this .. oh and i did use search.. and ya the search feature blows cause when it does return a result it is either nothing or its every post ever on here.. and its like 6am so exuse my poor spelling and grammer.. thanks
oh ya and if that dude was wrong and all that does stack..then do the gauntlets effects of -received damage apply to your whole body or just where you have the knights armor..

The -Dmg on the knights is global meaning it effects your whole body, and as for the plate/shield I do belive they add onto the -Dmg you recieve.

hope this helps
1 piece of knights armor is a GLOBAL -2 dmg reduction
Abosrbtion runes are damage reduction(-1,-2, or -3) vs. ATTACKS(not spells)
Shield damage reduction is GLOBAL damage reduction
I think the max attainable dmg redution = 10
shield ===== -2(st) -3(hexed)
knights==== -2(always)
absorbtion= -3(vs attacks)

Yep..Mattjones is correct...
I prefer a shield with -2 enchanted -2 stance, knights armor(one piece) and sup absroption.
People are so misinformed about this..but it can get a little confusing.
I've seen first hand what the dif damage - shields/armor and absorption do..i solo alot with my warrior and experiment with dif combos...and you can physically see the damage numbers floating up....I noticed a big dif with no shield and no knights armor as to shield with -2/-2 knights boots...
Hope this helps you out. Olydog

The "enter" key is your friend. Also, the search button is your friend. Stop posting threads about your question of this and try actually searching.
It wastes everyone's time because this answer has been answered numerous times and you can't bother to take time to go look for it.
Key word "Damage Reduction", for search.

Just a quick question, Does the difference between a major and superior absorbtion rune (-1) really warrant paying an extra 90k or so?

Stop Trolling, and the fact there are 90+ threads on it means it has been answered too many times. At least he can look through them before starting a new thread. That is why there is a search button.

Just like you went through the effort to make your post count go up with an off topic post? But the fact he found 90+ threads on it means he should of looked through them before coming here. It seems the OP was too lazy to go through them all.

Just like you are just raising your post count with off topic information.

If you think that extra -1 damage reduction is worth it, IMO it isn't. I prefer to sell it for 85k to the vendor than use it.
@ OP - Try reading through those threads or use better "key Words" for searching.
Damage reduction stack. The max damage reduction you can have at a time is -11. You get -3 from Superior Absorbtion Rune, -2 from Ascalon/Knight's armor, -2 from a mod off a shield, -3 off a mod of a shield, and -1 from a quest reward wand.
But, you can't use two superior absorbtion runes and get -6 damage. Nor can you receieve extra damage reduction from multiple Ascalon/Knight's armor, only one is needed to get the -2 damage reduction.
Happy now?

So are saying that could use only one piece of knights armour to get the reduction? ie. knights boots and gladiator everything else?

^ Yes, only one piece of KNight's/Ascalon armor is really needed to get that -2 damage reduction.

Is the price difference worth it to a new player? Proabably not. But when you get down to it, it does give a statistical advantage, unlike 15k armors.

the layout
ok heres the stuff about damage reduction
lets say you have one piece of knights(getting the -2 damage), a shield that gives u -2 ina stance, and superior absorption
while in a stance it should give u -7 damage against a normal attack
here r how much damage a spell will be reduced by:
a spell from an enemy will be reduced by 4 damage if u r ina stance (the damage reduction for the knights armor and shield is called "global" which means it reduces damage from attacks and spells)
here is how much damage an attack will be reduced by:
a normal attack from a enemy will be reduced by 7 damage if u r ina stance( again, global damage reduction from shield and knights armor and -3 damage from the superior absorption)
note: absorption runes only reduce damage from normal attacks
hope that cleared thing sup for ya

-5 shield (Ive never seen a -3/-3 shield...) -3 rune -2 armor -1 weapon
Quest reward item, its a Truncheon with +5 armor vs physical and -1 absorption (10% chance)
